Suriye ordusu, geçen Mayıs ayından bu yana Irak Şam İslam Devleti’nin (IŞİD) işgali altında bulunan Palmira antik kentini geri aldı.

IŞİD, Birleşmiş Milletler Eğitim, Bilim ve Kültür Örgütü’nün (UNESCO) Dünya Mirası listesinde bulunan Palmira kentinin önemli bölümlerini havaya uçurmuş ve görüntülerini yayınlamıştı.
